Talas started his baseball career as a member of the Eagles Foods pee-wee team at age of five.  He then moved on to minor league baseball at age seven playing for the Galeton Mets.  This is where his pitching career started.  Talas pitched and played first base for the Mets for one year and at the age of eight was drafted up to the Galeton Phillies which was a little league major league team.  Talas had a successful four years on the Phillies.  They won the league three out of four years. His last year as a 12 year old, he pitched three 18 strike out games giving up only one hit in each game.  He had 3 home runs that year and pitched a total of 104 strikeouts for the year.

At this time Talas also started playing travel baseball with a team from Elkland PA called the Tioga Athletics.  They played tournaments throughout Pennsylvania during 2004, 2005 and part of 2006.He also began to play Babe Ruth at age 13.  Then in 2006 Talas had a tryout for the New Jersey Cyclones.  He made the team and played with them for the rest of that year.

In 2007 Talas traveled to northern Virginia for a chance to play on the 14U Virginia Mavericks.  He made the team and played all over the state of Virginia during the 2007 season.  They played in the "Battle in the South" held in Tennessee with 35 other teams from all over the United States and made it to the quarter finals. He also was selected to the Pennsylvania Keystone State Games in 2007.

Talas continued to play with the Mavericks during the 2008 season.  They played in Tournaments in Delaware, Virginia and also the 16U USA National Championships (formerly the Junior Olympics).

2009 was an exciting year as well.  Talas joined a team called the Altoona Junior Curves.  They played in a number of showcases throughout the summer.  He was also selected to play for a team called NorCal East.  This team played in two huge tournaments in Northern California and Marietta Georgia.

Talas signed a letter of intent with Northampton Community College in March of 2010.  He spent the winter of 2010 and early spring of 2011 working hard with a training program and went from 185 lbs to 220.  The NCC spartans traveled to Myrtle Beach SC for their spring opener and came home with a record of 7-3 and a national ranking of 7th in the nation.  Talas is excited to be part of a great baseball program where he feels he is developing and improving everyday.

Away from baseball Talas likes to play other high school sports basketball and soccer. To relax away from the sports he also loves to fish, hunt and ride bike.
